The 20 Stupidest GI Joe Vehicles Ever

I didn't grow up playing with G.I. Joe toys. I distinctly remember as a pre-teen youngster thinking they were a bit...well...childish.

Being able to look down on my "foolish" peers who played with "ridiculous" action figures means that I now get an extra dose of hilarity from reading the Cracked rundown on "The 20 Stupidest GI Joe Vehicles Ever" (warning: not safe for children) (via Delicious popular bookmarks).

My favorite analysis, from the H.A.V.O.C ("Heavy Articulated Vehicle Ordnance Carrier"):

This one hits pretty much all the GI Joe vehicle high spots: Huge glass cockpits, a scarily exposed turret, and the ability to launch smaller, more comical vehicles. The only thing missing from this is about 12 dudes hanging off of it, but for all I know, they could be on the other side.
And whatever you're about to say about playing "army" with friends while at school, diving away from rolled-up sock "hand-grenades", science fiction, Star Wars, Lego or kung-fu movies being childish...don't!

Heathy's "Owy" Finger

Heathy basically ripped his fingernail off the other day, and even after a morning out at the hospital getting it bandaged, was in high spirits. My brave boy!

5 Years Blogging

I have been blogging for 5 years - it's my 5th "Blogiversary"!

Wow.

My first post was on October 31st 2003. Back then Olivia and I only had 1 child, my blog was called Christian Computing, I only read around 30 different blogs daily, I got a little disappointed if I didn't post for one whole week, and I seemed to have a lot more time on my hands...

Since then Olivia and I have added another 2 kids to the brood, I started a tech blog for my computer-related posts, and now I read around 100 different blogs daily and I don't mind if I don't post every week (although I do try and make it twice a month).

After these 5 years, I'm still glad to be blogging and I plan on sticking at it, with the occasional break :-)

Wifey Turns 30

My beautiful wife Olivia is turning 30, and had a big country-themed birthday "shindig" last night.

Olivia is an extraordinary woman. My theory is that when you're young, God gives you good looks to find the perfect mate; and when you hit 30, He gives you brains to keep 'em - Olivia, though, has had both since as long as I've known her.

She's a great Mum, a perfect wife, and my "pardner" and best friend.

Happy birthday Wifey!
